WOW! What a young lady - with head on straight and feet firmly on the ground. She will be an impact person in her life. I only know of her what I had read on this board. This interview/article paints a much fuller picture - and I am proud that the picture includes Duke. I would love to meet her and have a conversation. I think I could learn from her.

Money quote:

"I had an extremely contentious relationship with my fencing coach. He was very mad that I went to Duke because it was not a good fencing school.... The day after he said that, I ordered a Duke sweatshirt and wore it every day to fencing... I won NCAA championships three out of four years."

And what has not been said is how much she valued her Duke experience by foregoing another chance at the Olympics in London. It would have meant dropping out for a year.
