Under rules implemented in 2011, the NCAA requires a team to have a 900 average over four years or a 930 over two years to qualify for its postseason.

The Huskies APR for the 2011-12 school year is 947 out of 1000, and 978 out of 1000 in 2010-11 giving it a two-year score of 962.5.

The team's four-year APR is still just 897, so 2008-9 & 2009-10 averaged just 831.5!

The school's four-year score last year was 889 and its two-year average was just 902, which means 2009-10 was 826, 2008-9 was 837, and 2007-8 was 915.

For perspective, the LOWEST a Duke team has scored since 2004 is men's wrestling at 959 in 2004-5 (it has steadily risen since and stands at 1000 2 years in a row).

the numbers used for the apr calculation were '10-'11 and '11-'12, both of which were years under calhoun.

Numbers under Ollie won't be applicable until after next season (kind of ridiculous how long it takes them isn't it?)

Not to beat a dead horse here, hijack the thread, or imply that I don't hold the Huskies in contempt.

But it sure is ironic that UConn loses a post-season because it's actually POSSIBLE for their athletes to make bad grades, unlike the Cesspool on the Hill where it is not only institutionally impossible for a revenue athlete to make bad grades, but it is equally impossible for the NCAA to address it in any manner.

Never thought I'd be able to look at UConn with the idea that their ethics were higher than Carolina's.

Very nice point about UConn. They saw problems, and made big changes. A coach retired, and they got back on track. I admire this more than anything. Again, very nice point. Nice day, Jimmy

Article about U-Con and their AD, and the uphill battle he's facing. Despite the brave words, things do sound pretty dismal in Storrs these days? Since the Big10 seems pretty unlikely to come calling, now that they have already scored their NYC TV market school of choice, such as it is, it seems like U-Con really has nowhere left to turn other than the ACC. I just can't see the current situation remaining very lucrative for them long-term.

What'd the man say about karma....?
