Good reshuffle. Shows more clearly that UNC-CH has 1/2 the invitees we have.

I think Coach K and Jerry Colangelo deserve huge props for making our national program strong. Good players now want to represent the USA. They've built a program, not just a good team in a given year.

My only gripe is that they never open the practices or tryouts to the public. I've called a few times in the past few years and they don't seem to make any exceptions. I think I understand why they don't want summer coaches, entourages, and hangerson present in the gym but it would be a lot of fun to watch these young guys close up.

This sounds promising...

@AndyGlockner Rodney Hood just jammed baseline over Payne. Will provide interesting dynamic for Duke.

Sorry if this info is posted elsewhere, but is P.J. Hairston still participating, or busy tending to legal matters?

He's there. (http://acc.blogs.starnewsonline.com/37046/unc-star-hairstons-mind-on-basketball-even-as-off-the-court-troubles-mount/)

It's not like Hairston was going to pass on a free trip to Colorado. I mean, come on.

He's in the Springs. He won't necessarily feel at home down those parts.

Rodney Hood has the potential to be an All-ACC player this year. I think he is going to surprise a lot of folks who didn't notice him slip into Durham last year.

Good luck Rodney and Quinn! What a combination that will be next season.

You do have a lot of ammunition to make a post like that;).

And, if he makes the team, I wonder if he'll be the designated "gunner," err, shooter. Aww, never mind.

Thanks. And now P.J. Hairston has a back ache in addition to his other problems.

Additionally, P.J. Hairston (North Carolina/Greensboro, N.C.) suffered an injury to his back during the evening session on June 25 and was not able to continue his participation.

Really? 'Cause I thought the deal was that you no longer required a prescription to get that stuff in Colorado......

Actually although it passed I'm not sure that has taken effect yet. I think I heard 2014? Or I'm making this up. Could go either way here.

Although a Coloradan, I am a bit behind on this. Last November the voters approved an initiative for a constitutional amendment that would make legal use and possession of small amounts of MJ and authorize the state to license retail outlets and tax the product. The regulations and laws for giving out licenses is moving forward, and I suppose once licensed outlets are there, then marijuana is fully legal -- but highly regulated. I am not sure when this occurs and not sure if state and local lawmen are arresting folks today for possession of small amounts.

Of course, this is all totally illegal under federal statute, and no announcements have apparently been made on U.S. policy.

Treading lightly here not to delve into policy but just curious about the new law. Does it mean that pot will be treated like alcohol and anyone over 21 can purchase it for personal use not related to any type of medical condition? Thanks

As for Hood, I long ago went all in on betting he is an All ACC caliber stud for Duke this season and leads the team in scoring. That is my honest assessment of the impact I expect him to make. I am actually anxious for the World University tourney to wrap up so Rodney can come back and play in the Pro Am. Anyone know if the World University tourney games will be televised? It will be great if they are.

.

Just plain legal. No Rx required. Must be 21, and with limits on quantities in sales and personal possession. The state wants to stamp out the existing black market for MJ. Therefore, as in the State of Washington, the taxes will be significant but not punitive. There are also controls to requlate the quality (contaminants, e.g.).

Just writing all this makes me want .... a brewski.

Looks like ESPN-U will have quite a few of the games, some live and some on tape.

And the tax money goes to maintaining and constructing public schools, at least in CO, not sure what Washington is doing with the tax dollars. My buddy in the industry thinks his store will be open to the public, as in those without "medical" licenses, as soon as October.
