I don't like the implication the article makes in its final sentence that unofficial visits to Duke got Shabazz into trouble. That's actually old news involving both Duke and UNC, neither of which did anything wrong. The visits were unofficial and the violation was due to a family "friend" footing the bills for all costs associated with the trips. Doesn't really matter which schools he visited. The schools did nothing wrong themselves and had no involvement in the wrongdoing that occurred.

The schools would have no way of controlling or even knowing who paid for the plane/hotel fare associated with the visit.
