Hope he gets another chance to see the field. He made the most of his opportunity at the end of last season.

Only tangentially related but Grisham's Playing For Pizza is a great read about a hard luck quarterback.

I concur with this recommendation.

Not exactly the best landing place. He's stuck behind the franchise QB (Stafford) and a very proven backup (Hill). But who knows? Maybe both guys get hurt and Lewis gets a shot.

True. but Hill is recovering from foot surgery; and he is getting up there in age. At the very least, hopefully Thad can earn a spot on the team as at least the 3rd string quarterback; and show enough good qualites that he eventually supplants Shaun Hill as the backup. Thad would a younger and less expensive alternative to Hill at least.

As a Lions fan, I hope that Thad sticks as a #3/#2 but doesn't ever have to play (that would mean Stafford has gone down with an injury!) except in garbage time after we blow people out.

I find it humorous that the comments to the "article" devolve into a Tebow debate.

With Reggie Bush catching passes out of the backfield Thad might have the kind of situation in which he could prosper: lots of targets that require quick decision making.

do we know why the browns let him go?

Browns have recently signed backup QBs Bryan Hoyer and Jason Campbell to 2 year deals. Since the Lions claimed Thad on waivers, they pick up his contract.
