CameronBlue,

thanks for posting that about Zach Sobiech. I hadn't heard of him, but spent some time this evening learning about him. What an inspiration, what a great kid, with fantastic family and friends. Catchy songs too. He was dealt a bad hand, but played it brilliantly.

For a great little video of Ray Manzarek sitting at the keyboard describing how the great Doors song Riders on the Storm was conceived and written, and telling stories of how it went in the studio, check out this link. (http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2013/05/ray_manzarek_co-founder_o.php) Scroll down a little. The top video is just the song itself with some footage of LA and Morrison, but the better one is down lower on the scroll, with the older Manzarek telling the whole story.

tommy, thanks for the link. Really interesting video.

Glad the Jim did the singing, though. Ray's voice was truly awful!

I have a Rhodes Mark I Seventy-three at my house. Tonight I'll plug it in and play Riders On the Storm, just for fun.

RIP, Ray.

RIP, Ray.

I've gotta pull out my Doors Greatest Hits CDs, hit the road, roll down the windows, open up the sunroof and blast out LA Woman and Love Her Madly.
