At first glance I assumed this was a relatively minor surgery. And although it may very well be, 6-8 weeks is a lot of offseason time to miss.

Quite unfortunate. Feel better, Jigz. Here's hoping you prove that timeframe way too conservative!

The "good" thing, if there is one, is that this should not significantly hamper much of his conditioning. I would imagine that the weight room may be off limits (or his training at least modified -- hard to lift or pull without using your thumb) but he should be in excellent cardio shape.
