Hope the surgery goes well today, and is the final fix on that darn foot!!!

We love you and the way you played and worked for Duke University. Can't say enough about your positive attitude and leadership.

Sounds like our strongest lineup had five players on the floor but only eight functioning legs. Pretty good season considering that.

He IMO gave us the greatest win, that being Miami. I am dying to see what he had done. More academic for me. I wish him the best. He is a true team player, and leader for a big. Wish him well in his future plans.
Thank you for posting. Appreciate this.

Ryan, hope you're able to join your friends and teammates Mason and Seth for graduation from Duke University.

Thanks for all you've done; you've got a bright future, basketball and beyond.

This is how he celebrates his birthday? Can think of many better ways.

Happy birthday, Ryan! Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery from the surgery, and for a NBA team to take a chance on quality stretch power forward in this year's draft.

Kid's a warrior. Could have ended his season with a surgery to save himself for draft workouts, instead he works his way back to one of the greatest performances in the history of CIS and a respectable tourney run. Here's hoping he heals up quickly and finds a spot in the league next year.

Unfortunate shooting slump down the stretch, but you can't fault the heart.

Maybe the "shooting slump" was somewhat related to his leg? After all, he's having surgery, so to me, at least, it wasn't fully and/or correctly healed. But yes, HEART he does have.

GO RYAN!!!

Ryan's improvement on defense over the course of his career is a testament to Ryan's hard work and Duke's player development.

Much health and prosperity for Ryan in the future.

I do think, with his shooting ability and improved defense, he has a chance to stick in the NBA. I thought he had no chance two years ago.

Thanks Ryan for your four years at Duke University. It seems like yesterday that you were an incoming freshman. Man, time flys by too fast. I want to wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery. I'm proud you came back from your foot injury and gave it your all. What a game against Miami. One of the best ever in a Duke uniform. God bless you in your pursuit of an NBA career. I'll be rooting for you. GoDuke!

Sounds as though Ryan have had the same type of foot surgery that I had last Friday, involving bone removal/grafting and tendon modification. The pain is no problem after the first day, but the inability to put any weight on the foot for a period of 2-3 months is the worst part.
Feel for you, Ryan; let's get through it !

Saw Ryan on crutches in the parking lot next to the lacrosse field on Saturday, with Seth Curry.

I thanked them for all their efforts, told them I was proud of them, and wished them much success and good health.

Then I walked towards Cameron, saw Marshall Plumlee and thanked him and wished him luck.

Sounds like a great use of a reunion weekend (just a guess based on the 83 in your screen name). :)

I can just imagine Cowher frothing at the mouth (chewing gum, obviously) as he happily spits out his blessing to Ryan (yet still in a terrifying manner).

Congrats to Kelly, and best wishes to him and his future bride!

You can take Coach Cowher out of Pittsburgh but you can't take Pittsburgh out of Coach Cowher....

And may see garbage time as early as tonight after the Clippers wipe the floor with the Lakers (who are, politely, not very good).

The Lakers will be competitive as long as they have Kobe on the floor.

Oh, wait...

Hopefully because JJ is going nuts from downtown. He's finally on a team where he fits.

Too bad that Kelly didn't get any action...

I am somewhat amazed at the minute spread for the Lakers last night however. 9 guys getting 20+ minutes. 11 guys playing between 13 and 27 minutes.

Hopefully Ryan can break into the rotation and see some significant time.

I'm more shocked that they sat Pau so long with him being so effective (even though they won and granted, he did turn the ball over 5 times). I mean, what did Gasol do to tick D'Antoni off so bad? He scores, rebounds, defends, passes, gets to the line, hits his FTs... heck, he even shoots 3s! D'Antoni loves 7 footers that shoot 3s!

Pau's line:

24 min, 5-12 shooting, 1-2 3pt, 4-4 FT, 15 points, 13 boards, 4 assists, 5 turnovers... and only a -2 +/-.

As I mentioned elsewhere, not a good sign that the Clippers starters got rolled by Jordan Farmar, Xavier Henry, Jodie Meeks, Wesley Johnson, and Jordan Hill.
