Anyone know what percentage of our offense comes from three this year?

29.4% of our points are from 3s. We take 1/3 of our field goal attempts from 3.

I haven't read the article yet, but to answer your question: 33.2% of our shot attempts are three-point shots and 29.4% of our points come from threes.

Does that take into account foul shots? I'd add the 'and one' points to the 3's and 2's sums, then also adjust for the 'fouled in the act of shooting' shots and shot attempts (as far as I'm concerned, I'd add those to the appropriate bin for both attempts and points).

Points yes, attempts no.

29.4% is based soley from field goals. Points aren't bucketed, but I do see your point.

I think the premise of the article is flawed though. Individual players dictate the strategy, not national averages. Perhaps those 3 championship teams wouldn't have been championship teams if the shot fewer threes. Plus 10 is such a small sample size. just changing a handful of plays over those 10 years, and the number of winners in the "above" category could be 5 or 6.

this thread title was a stat-nerd honeypot, wasn't it? Well don't go telling the other stat-nerds that. Now we won't how many are lurking out there.

ETA: I was interested to see that my suspicion was correct, and the 2010 Duke title team relied more heavily on the 3 ball than other recent champs. I was surprised that that team was only 107 in the nation by percentage.

I wonder where the 2001 and 1999 teams (the two best Duke teams since 1992) would have fallen?
