No matter who had succeeded Coach Yow, it was going to end badly.

Harper can coach. She'll land on her feet. Umm, paging Pat Haden.

No there isn't. She's buried somewhere in the bowels of Murdoch Corp.

Why does unc keep this coach on: did she really say this? (From the WRAL story)

The Tar Heels were called for 24 fouls compared to 13 for the Blue Hens, and a discrepancy did not escape Hatchell's notice.

"I wish Delaware good luck when they get on a neutral court," she said.

When asked to comment on having her two stars in foul trouble and the 24 whistles against the Tar Heels, Hatchell said, "That hasn't been a problem all year until now. With Pratt and Waltiea both out, that was the difference in the game. But I told the girls in the locker room, 'This is a great lesson. Life isn't always fair.'"

She can coach, but she couldn't recruit. The talent just isn't there to keep up with Duke, Maryland and unc. Luckily for State...Maryland is leaving the picture. Unluckily for State, ND is coming into the picture. Unless the next coach can work miracles on the court, they will struggle until they get more talent coming in.

Coach G is being looked at by Ohio State as a top candidate. Someone in chat last night also mentioned that USC was interested in her.

The Women of Troy reach up into the rafters of the Galen Center and bring one of the greatest players in the program's history in to revive the program.

Cooper-Dyke has been a turnaround specialist as a head coach, dramatically improving basement-dwelling programs at Prairie View, UNCW, and most recently Texas Southern. The PAC 12 is a different type of challenge.

Some updates.

Ohio State hired Kevin McGuff (http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9180413/ohio-state-hires-kevin-mcguff-women-coach) away from Washington, who then promoted assistant coach Mike Neighbors (http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9192290/washington-promotes-mike-neighbors-new-women-hoops-coach).

On the Duke front, Coach P's contract has been extended (http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9191218/duke-extends-women-hoops-coach-joanne-p-mccallie-contract) through the 2018-2019 season.

No news about former Duke and Texas coach Gail Goestenkors.
