Is it me or does Bucky like to outperform in Big Ten tournaments? Much like NCSU in the ACC.

Bucky/Indy... not a shoe-in for Indy.

There will be a lot of strong 2s and 3s. If Michigan is a 3 in Duke's region and Duke is a 1, what's the big deal? Michigan has real issues defensively. If they get past the 2 seed, I'd be fine with that matchup.

Agree...Michigan is tough, but at least we've seen them each of the last few years (2011 NCAAs and Maui last year). I think having experience against a core group of players and their coach/style of play is really important.

Trey Burke worries me. They have a wonderful team, who have been falling apart lately. They are definitely beatable, but I'd prefer someone along the lines of Kansas State.

But K State is 31 in Pomeroy and 30 in the Sagarin predictor, so I think they'll be lucky to be a 4 or 5.

Ohio State is (not surprisingly) destroying Nebraska. Syracuse is up 9 at the half on Georgetown. Kansas is close, but it's still very early.

Cuse over Georgetown potentially affects our seeding far more.

Every time I watch a Big East or B1G game, I fully understand why the scores are always so low.

Refs let players get away with SOOOO much contact. It's unreal. Hand checks, body checks, over the back, moving screens. It's always a slugfest. Not very fun to watch, similar to how watching the Heat and Knick battles in the 90s was no fun unless Van Gundy was attached to someone's ankle.

Indiana loses, Georgetown loses, Duke loses... I mean, someone HAS to get the #1 seeds, right? I figure there's a good chance of Syracuse beating Louisville tonight, and Kansas is no lock over KSU... What a mess the selection committee will have tomorrow.

So, if we apply the theory from another thread that a champion has to win their conference tournament as well - congrats Gonzaga!

Prepare for a very interesting NCAA tourney. I hope our devils do well.

Go Duke!

But the cold people (i.e., Wisconsin) trudge on.

As a person born and raised in Wisconsin, I want to give a shout-out to the Badgers. They certainly don't get the top recruits (honestly, Madison is a great college town, but who would want to go to school in Wisconsin?), but year after year those alarmingly unathletic white stiffs manage to put together some good basketball. Beating Michigan and Indiana back-to-back on a neutral court is damn impressive, better than anything Duke did this season...and they are doing it in March. Of course, they did lose to Purdue recently, so a first round loss isn't out of the realm of possibility either. When you are a Badger, you savor the good when it comes, and today was savory.

Living in St. Louis, I want to give a shout-out to Saint Louis University. They could have folded up shop when Majerus died, but here they are in the top 20 and still flying under the radar. Butler gets the ESPN headlines, but they beat Butler three times this season. They will probably be a 4 or 5 seed, but keep them out of Duke's bracket please.

Kansas looked pretty gosh dern good defensively against K-State. There wasn't a moment that it looked like the Wildcats could or would win that game. And Perry Ellis, the freshman forward that plays off the bench, was simply terrific for Kansas. Duke was in on him for awhile in the recruiting game. Hmm. Long-armed 6'8" scoring forward who's ready to contribute big time by the end of his freshman year? Wonder if we could've used that . . .

It was a 44-10 Louisville run at one point in the second half. They were down, what, 16 with 16 minutes to go and they win by double digits? Absolutely absurd.

Why, oh why, didn't we do more to get Harrell? Kid was a phenom tonight.

Scenario: we get put in Gonzaga's region, but that sends us out west. Or we get put in a stronger bracket closer to home. Do most people value proximity or the other teams in the region?

What Florida has done this year, with NO wins by fewer than 10 points (and their two closest wins to the same team, Alabama) is both amazing and amusing.

I want them in our prong -- as our 3 if we're a 2, or as our 4/5 if we're a 1. If we lose to them it'll be a blowout, meaning it wasn never meant to be.

While watching Wisconsin and Ohio State grab, push, slap, and brick jumpshots over and over and over, I got to thinkin', this is why the B1G hasn't won a title since 2000.

They can't score. There's no skill to their game at all, it's just beat the crap out of each other until the final buzzer. Then, when they get out of the conference, they can't keep up with 21st century basketball.

They like to be called The SEC of basketball, but there's just 1 difference - the SEC wins titles.

Well the two narratives will be either they beat each other up too much or that the game was called too tightly compared to B10 games. I will agree that this is what will kill a team like Wisconsin who relies a lot on that type of game play.

I will say that when IU met Michigan or MSU, the game was played very well and it didn't seem overly physical. So when they meet good teams, those teams are capable of playing well.
