View Full Version : Golf: One in Hole! 18 under!
One golfer in a sink hole, 18' down.

Put a flag in the middle of that 10' wide hole, and THERE'S a green I could probably 2-putt.
Of course, I'd be more likely to "sink" it from one or two fairways over, and not intentionally.

Best thread title ever.
If the ground just opened up and swallowed you one day, wouldn't that kind of freak you out the rest of your life? I mean, where the hell are you safe?

I'd probably still leave the putt short.

For the benefit of those who didn't receive Zporkz for making this comment, I offer Ozzie's 2nd rule of golf: Most putts that are short don't go in! :cool:http://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/images/smilies/devil9f.gif http://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/images/smilies/devil9f.gif

I've also found that putts that are hit hard enough to gain altitude rarely go in
Come on, I can't be the only one to reach a green in two, only to go putt, chip, putt, putt, putt?
(I've also thrown a few sandshots into my sequence of putts on more than one occassion)

There's another way to play golf?

My two happiest memories of golf are a birdy on a long par 3 where I landed the drive only a few feet from the pin, and another game where I chipped it in from a bunker.
The rest are a combination of frustration, irritation and swear words - one punctuated by a checked baseball swing that nearly wrapped my nine iron around a tree trunk. That was the last round of golf I played voluntarily.

I played my first round of golf at age 10, on vacation in upstate NY. My first tee shot (in front of the elderly gentlemen whittling on the porch of the clubhouse) went 150 yards down the middle, and I'm on the green in three on the par four. Then four putted. Nothing much has changed (other than at least I get about 230, although not "straight" anymore.)

Putt, chip, putt, pick up and write down a 6.

Voluntarily? What, do guys walk around with guns forcing you to play golf?
