According to GoDuke (http://goduke.statsgeek.com/basketball-m/players/statlines.php?playerid=2740) Mason Plumlee could be just the 8th player in Duke history to crack the 1,000 rebound mark, joining Shelden Williams, Mike Gminski, Christian Laettner, Randy Denton, Mike Lewis, Kyle Singler, and Danny Ferry. He currently has 948 going into today's FSU game. If he maintains his current average of 11/game he should reach 1,000 in the next 5 games. This means he should break it in the game at Maryland, but with a couple good games it could happen in the preceding UNC game.

Mason only needs 16 more rebounds to reach 1,000. He would be only the 3rd player in Duke history with 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 150 blocks. He could possibly get there today.

So what kind of watch does Mason get for this honor?
Timex - something swiss? AND is it a violation?

the other 2 are g-man and landlord, right?

and, he's on-pace to cross 200 blocks (with 187, 1.7 per this year), but it's not a given.

so when the book is written, it's probable that only the landlord, g-man and laettner have more rebounds, and only the landlord, g-man and cherokee have more blocks - that's some serious company. just looking at the numbers, parks might be the best analogy, but hopefully mason can lead the team to more bling (before i get jumped on, lead is the operative word there) and pick up more personal hardware.

Thank you for making this a watch and not a vigil!

i'm loving this analogy. mason needs to embrace it and start getting tatted up immediately.

It would be rather cool to see a line like 16 points, 16 boards, 4 blocks, 2 PF, 1 TO and 4 A for Mason today in about 35 minutes of play today, along with a double digit Duke win;). I'd be reeeaaal happy with those numbers.

Thanks! I thought about going higher with some of the estimates (maybe 10 blocked shots, too:D) but didn't want to seem/be greedy;).

That would make a dandy triple double!
