We were 24 hours away from being the last unbeaten, but can we be the last 1-loss team ("semi-unbeaten")? I have included their games for next week (and this weekend)

#3 Duke (16-1)- @ Miami 1/23; vs. Maryland 1/26
#4 Kansas (16-1)- @ #16 Kansas St. 1/22; vs. Oklahoma 1/26
#5 Michigan (17-1)- vs. Purdue 1/24; @ #23 Illinois 1/27
#6 Syracuse (17-1)- vs. Cincinnati 1/21; @ Villanova 1/26
#7 Arizona (16-1)- vs. #24 UCLA 1/24; vs. USC 1/26
#8 Gonzaga (17-1)- @ #13 Butler 1/19; vs. BYU 1/24; vs. San Francisco 1/26
Stephen F. Austin (15-1)- vs. Nicholls St. 1/19; @ Northwestern St. 1/26

Their respective losses were:

Duke: @ #14 (then #20) NC State 84-76
Kansas: neutral vs. #18 (then #21) Michigan St. 67-64
Michigan: @ #11 (then #15) Ohio St. 56-53
Syracuse: neutral vs. Temple 83-79
Arizona: @ #21 (then NR) Oregon 70-66
Gonzaga: vs. #23 (then #13) Illinois 85-74

If we can get past Miami, there's a decent chance we're a one loss team until mid-February at least. Our ACC schedule is tough at the beginning and end but pretty soft in the middle.

We are down to 6 after Butler beat Gonzaga 64-63 on a buzzer beater.

Gonzaga has now fallen twice to teams ranked #13 at the time of the game.

Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that Duke is only MOSTLY unbeaten. There's a big difference between "mostly unbeaten" and "beaten." Mostly unbeaten is slightly unbeatable. With beaten, well, there's usually only one thing you can do: go through the Dean Dome and look for loose change.

I don't think that means what you think it means.

My concern is that Duke may be blaving when it comes to the extent of Kelly's injury.

in which direction?

the diagnostic vagueness is unusual. I can imagine several scenarios (broken bone, plantar fasciitis) but don't see how it helps to be vague. If he's really out for the season but we're all waiting on his return, then the core team can go on with its biz while our competitors half prepare for Ryan and the voters dutifully err on the side of his return by giving us the benefit of the doubt--which, assuming we can beat 2nd tier but still strong teams, like Miami and then beat state another time or two--will likely lead us to a number 1 seed if not the overall 1. and having everyone knell over Ryan's greatness does nothing to hurt his draft stock, and we'd quit talking about him if he were simply out for 3 months. or maybe he's got the same injury as kyrie or Trajan, and they're concernd about what it might mean for our training methods. or maybe it's not our business.

I'm pretty sure Jason was just making a Princess Bride joke.

I'm with you and would like to know the situation. Things always seem to be left vague with injuries on this team. for instance, what do we really know about Seth?
All I can think of is that this school honors the athletes right to privacy. If that is what it is, so be it.

I believe HIPAA requires this if the athlete wants to preserve the right to privacy, although presumably they have authority to waive their HIPAA rights.
