So how does this work? Is the world supposed to end when the entire planet has reach December 21st? Cause Japan has already seen the 21st and the East coast of the US will see it before the west....

Just came down with the flu, so I beginning to think the Mayans were right.

Spent the day telling folks I hate to go screw themselves. Wonderful day, if all goes as planned.

The airing of the grievances was plentiful.

I asked myself the same question.

Well, if this is indeed the end in about half an hour, I can go out with a smile on my face realizing that Duke finished ranked Number One, Baybee!

I can report that Kansas survived the end of time as the Mayans knew it. ;-)

Does this mean I need to make plans for dinner tonight?

And that I have to travel to the in-laws this weekend?

Thank you Jabari for easing the pain

Duke is # 1 and the Heels are in free fall. All is right in the world. A bunch of Mayans will wake up tomorrow and realize they only have 3 days to do their Christmas shopping.

Not that I think it is any more likely, but what I have heard is that the world doesn't end until around 9:30 tonight. I have no idea where that time came from and I doubt there are any credible sources on the matter to provide a link. So I guess I am rumor mongering now...

On a related note, people are making mayan jokes like there is no tomorrow.

Do you suppose the road to the apocalypse is paved with yellow bricks? What if you encounter a Mayan seeking a heart, a Spaniard seeking courage, and Hun Hunahpu seeking a brain?

Hhhmm, do I wash my hair and look good for the end of the world or just keep the pjs on and take it easy?
What's a girl to do?

Dress up. Do it right. Everyone knows in a post-apocalyptic world, the pretty girl gets Mel Gibson and then dies so he can avenge her.

Hope I don't end up having to get a job.

I REALLY regret calling the boss a two-faced pustule of a man whose overinflated self-absorbed ego was only matched by his massive stupidity and corrosive halitosis.

Yeah, had to walk that one back today. Awkward.

It's really quite simple, just like the Sagarin and KenPom rankings. You have to connect all the slopes, err, teams, I mean dots, no, taps, then you have complete understanding;).

Yes, skiing and beer, but preferably not both at the same time. You might fall and hurt yourself, and spill your beer.

Anyway, why spend all that money on gear and an Epic Pass when you can still climb in winter for free and be just as cold.

Totally agreed on the no brews while skiing for me. Or, no brew-skis, I guess:rolleyes:.

Lotsa folks can do it but my ability is marginal enough that they will never mix for me.

Good point about the climbing and being cold.

Back in the day (uh...when I was in my twenties and still stupid) I thought I skied better after a few. Kind of depended on the hill, though. In the Rockies...maybe not...but in the West Virginia and Adirondack mountains, you bet!

But I confess I gave it all up when I realized my reaction time was slowing and I became winded at moderate altitudes. Getting older does that to you.

[My Denver cousin, who has skied Winter Park since 1959, gave it up this year at age 77. But she never handicapped herself with evil drink.]
