I like Coach P's attitude. The Duke women are ranked 3rd in the country, but being ranked doesn't entitle anyone to a championship or a long tourney run. McCallie is getting her team ready for the big games before the season even begins. Here she is talking after the blue-white game, which they lost to the male scout team. (Which will hopefully give some perspective to those who believe the best women's team can beat a male college team.)

“I believe this film will be nauseating,” Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said. “A lot coaches set up Mickey Mouse games and then win by 40 and everybody gets excited. We set up a real NCAA game."

Coach P has a tough schedule for her team, here's a list of teams we will be playing that are ranked or have votes in the polls.

Michigan (In Ann Arbor, ACC/Big Ten Challenge) 9 votes
California (In Cameron) Ranked 13th
Georgia Tech (In Cameron) Ranked 22cnd
St. Johns (In NYC) Ranked 14th
USC (In LA, Trojan Classic) 1 vote
UCONN (at Storrs) Ranked 2cnd
Virginia (In Charlottesville) 12 votes
Miami (home and away) Ranked 24th
UNC (home and away) 12 votes
Maryland (home and away in a 2 week span) Ranked 5th
Florida State (In Cameron) 12 votes

That's 11 teams with voter recognition out of 16 teams total. Tough schedule and one that will pay off. Plus we have our male scout team to challenge us in practice every day.

With the loss on Fri. of the number-1 Baylor Bears in Hawaii to number-4 Stanford, Duke WBB appears set to move up another step in the rankings. It appears maybe nobody will go undefeated this year after all...

I'm guessing Stanford moves ahead of Duke in the polls. It will be interesting to see what happens.

There is a fair chance baylor stays #1 since osyssey sims (their second best player) missed most of the game, but if i were putting money on it:

1 uconn
2 baylor
3 stanford
4 duke

That makes no sense. Why wouldn't Stanford be #1 and Baylor #2?
