I didn't know until just now that Adam Silver was a Duke guy, per Alaa's tweet.

NBA.com announcement: http://www.nba.com/2012/news/10/25/david-stern-retirement.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt3a

I think the thing he will miss the most is the draft. Wonder if Silver lets him come out and give the Knicks' pick this year, for old time's sake.

Edit: in 2014

Weird. I always though Duke guys couldn't make it in the NBA. Now they have all-stars, GMs and commissioners.

According to wikipedia he graduated from Duke in 1984... Silver will just be keeping the spot warm for Battier until after he completes his second term in the White House.

Slightly OT, but Battier for President is such a popular meme here, is there actually any indication he has political ambitions, or is it just a reflection of the esteem in which we hold him?

Something tells me he has far too much integrity to succeed in politics.
