It looks like they just took strawberry Pop Tarts and put the school logo on the frosting...but, really...nc tar heel berry? Sounds pretty nauseating to me. What's really hilarious are some of the twitter comments at the end of the article.

"@Mengus22: Maryland Pop Tarts would taste bad, but look far, far worse."

"@Mengus22: A meme is born RT @CecilHurt: Just tried the North Carolina logo Pop Tart in a taste test.I gave it a C-minus but someone changed it to an A"

"@RobDauster: As much as we all enjoy Kentucky's Pop-Tarts it's only a matter of time before breakfast has been vacated."

Heck, I might buy the Tar Heel Blue. Pop Tarts are great to have around the house.

BTW, you skipped the best tweet, "ECU's Pop Tarts keep applying to become Toaster Strudels."

George Carlin was wrong; there are some blue foods. But none that are that shade of blue.

I'm calling it. There's a clear Carolina bias here. You know the significance of Strawberry Pop-Tarts, right?

http://abcnews.go.com/US/hurricanes/running-pop-tarts-top-items-people-stock-hurricanes/story?id=14393602

Quoted in part:

"Over the course of their experience with hurricanes, Walmart has learned that Strawberry Pop-Tarts are one of the most purchased food items, especially after storms, as they require no heating, can be used at any meal, and last forever," Steve Horwitz, an economist at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., who studied Walmart's response to Hurricane Katrina, told ABC News.

So, Walmart. Where they already sell Ol' Roy dog food (http://www.doppspot.com/2011/03/roy-williams-huckleberry-hound-dog.html), and now UNC logos on their most popular emergency rations.

As long as we get some tie-in with green M&Ms I'm cool.

But the source of the bias is clear and makes sense. Note that the correlation between "People of Walmart" and Carolina fans is nearly 1:1. Fortunately, supporting a basketball team is NOT politics, where every vote counts the same. Even though I, myself, shop frequently at Walmart...UNC can have the Walmartian support!

These hit the news this weekend - as boxes were unpacked in Chapel Hill. Yuck!

I wouldn't buy that junk food if Erin Andrews' visage were on it.
