The Duke women's soccer team is ranked second, behind defending national champion Stanford, in the NSCAA pre-season coaches poll.
The Blue Devils got ten of eleven first-place votes in the ACC coaches per-season poll. This is the first time in the 21-year history of the poll that anyone other than Evil Blue has been at the top. Evil Blue slipped all the way to fourth, behind Wake and FSU.
Five ACC schools, the four listed above plus Virginia, will be missing players for the first three weeks of the season due to the under-20 world championships.
SoCal Dukies take note: the team will be playing in a tournament at USC on Friday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. McAllister Field is on Hoover just north of Jefferson, convenient to the 10 and 110 freeways. See you there!
