Hey, Everybody...

I recently posted the 1992 national championship game video on YouTube.

Thought you might enjoy it. I'll post the 1992 Final Four game versus Indiana here in a bit.

Here it is:

It's funny, i've rewatched this game before, but I still forget how tense the first half was. Christian turns it over 6 times (6!) with one field goal. Bobby Hurley gets two fouls. The offense looks entirely disjointed. Really, the only consolation was Chris Webber also picking up early fouls. I always think of that team as being almost flawless. But the championship game was actually a shockingly poor showing . . . at least the first half of the first half.

Hurley's over-the-shoulder dump-off to Christian at the start of the second half was the game-changer. A tale of two Laettners.

True, but even the second half was closer than I remembered, too. Funny how time messes with your memory. If you had asked me yesterday how far ahead Duke was with 7 minutes left, I would've said 10-15 points. I can't believe it was only 3! And with Hurley on the bench with 4 fouls.

Most of Duke's NCAAT games are in the NCAA vault website (NCAA Vault (http://vault.ncaa.com/)) starting with '86 NC game against UL till the '11 AZ butt kicking. Some years they only show final four games, some only to the elite 8, and some show games from the round of 16 (it's really cool to watch JWill in the '01 UCLA game).

For ACC games there is also an ACC vault (ACC Vault (http://vault.theacc.com/)). I especially like the Duke vs. UNC additions they have put on there in the last couple years.

Youtube is also a great place to watch old games, and if you like Duke vs. Michigan in the fab 5 era, check out their first game in '91 (Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quhog_Cuk5Y)) (Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMf7BrGHZfo&feature=fvwrel)). The quality isn't great (obviously originally recorded on VHS) but its still a great game.

Yeah the NCAA vault is pretty awesome. I have fond memories of rewatching the 2010 title game on the morning of my wedding to help calm my nerves, haha.

I also have the third Duke game/victory versus the Fab Five at Cameron from late 1992 (December, I think).

I'll upload it soon.

I will have to check jwill against ucla in the 01 tourney... Jwill owned the baseline 3, almost as much as battier owned the 3 from the top of the key

I just watched some highlights of the 2001 title game. I remembered it being a pretty comfortable win, but AZ was within 3 or 4 with like three minutes left. And they had some serious talent on their side (as did we, of course).

I still can't bring myself to watch a replay of the 1999 title game. Most disappointing night of my sports life, by a mile...

Yeah, the 2001 title game is even more obscured in my memory. I was NEVER worried in that game. But I think that's because the team had just come back from 22 down against Maryland. After coming back to pound a very dangerous Maryland team, I just felt like there is no way Battier and company would let the team lose in the title. Honestly, the same is probably true for that 92 game, too. The team had been so good for so long and was so deep that I just felt like they would find a way to win.

Uggh, why would any Duke fan want to watch that '99 game again? Or the '04 loss to UCONN? Losing to UK was bad in '98, but we will forever have the '92 game as an epic win. Also, I didn't have any real ethical issues with the UK program in '98, so as much as that hurt, it doesn't sting quite as much. Losing to UCONN in the Final Four twice in five years, however, was really painful, regardless of our success against them in the tournament in previous years. Going back in time to give that amazing '99 team a title and take one away from Calhoun would be one of my first priorities if I had a time machine (i mean, hey, I wouldn't want to change something really important and cause the cosmos to explode or something:cool:).

Ethical issues surrounding the UK program? Ask and ye shall receive.

As a substitute I like to watch the semi-final Michigan State game. Good lord was that team loaded.
