What a dominating performance by Duke--outscored UVa 5-0 in third period!

For once this year our boys are not scaring the life out of us in the 4th quarter ( though they did give up a few late goals)!!!! This is our biggest win of the season hands down and we needed this one to secure our tourny bid. Congrats boys now lets keep on truckin and make a run for another national title GO DUKE!!!!!!

Wiggy was ON from the apart, and finished with 14 saves. Henry Lobb gets my MOTM for holding Stanwick scoreless for the first three quarters. Dionne blitzed the Hoos for four goals in the third quarter.

In my "how to beat Virginia" comment on Monday, I said staying out of the box was key. No penalties.

That's the Duke team we thought we had coming into the season. That's a team that can get to Foxborough.

Next up: Murlund in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, a week from today in Hooville.

I would have posted regular updates, but Duke has had near meltdowns in a few games, and I wasn't sure we were gonna win until we got under 4:00 in Q4.

Defense was really impressive. UVa could not beat any Blue Devil 1-on-1, which is a huge problem for an offense.

Now that's more like it! Solid play on both ends of the field. Great game from Wigrizer and the defense overall was the best Duke has played this season. Hopefully this means the team is getting it all together at the right time of the year and it's not just the fact that they have a permanent luxury suite booked in UVA's heads.

Irony alert--Duke's reward for being the first seed in the ACC tournament is an opening game against #4 seed Maryland--the only ACC team to beat Duke this year.

Whom we don't own. Besides being 11-1 against UVa and 10-1 against UNC, Duke is 3-4 against Maryland over the last 6 years.
