Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I hadn't seen it and felt it deserved its own thread. Earlier this week Grant was awarded the Mannie Jackson Basketball Human Spirit Award (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2012/04/04/20120404phoenix-suns-grant-hill-recieves-human-spirit-award.html).

Pretty cool honor for Grant (although somehow Calhoun won the "amateur" portion of the award...would love for someone to explain that one).

My guess is someone misread the statement in the article " . . . people who exemplify core values, community service and have overcome obstacles."

They probably thought it said "or have overcome obstacles". Truthfully, he has had to battle cancer. (He also has had to overcome rules, graduation rates, and morality.)

I failed to mention in my previous post that Grant is very deserving of this honor! One of the best Duke representatives ever.
