Not sure I like this being passed over as fun and frivolous.

Isn't the allusion that this entourage mentality of friends with money and access leads to all that is wrong with the summer games?

I agree that the story makes the summer games seem all fun and games. But it was an interesting story about a real character. It would not be my cup of tea, but give the guy credit -- he knows how to self-promote.
