We all knew Mason would make it since he also was named to the Academic All-America first team, but Silent G also made the cut! Congrats guys!

Looks like Clemson actually led all schools with 4 selections. Congrats to them. Duke and Ga Tech came in second with 2 each. Four schools had one selection, and five schools had none.

Congrats to Mason, Michael Gbinije, and all the honorees.

Frankly, I'm delighted to see Silent G make this list.
His adjustment on the court has been difficult, not unusual for a freshman, but it can be a challenge for a young man to work through the transition to high-level college competition. It would have been easy for Michael to get a bit discouraged and for his academics to suffer. Sounds like he's doing a very good job in the classroom.

Despite his limited minutes and limited success this year, I think Gbinije can be a very good player for us.

I knew Mason was a good student, but Silent G's performance, as a freshman, is almost more impressive. Makes me proud to be a Duke fan.

Me too. His time will come on the basketball court, as well. Great work, Michael.
