"Boston College senior shortstop Anthony Melchionda has been named the first Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week of the 2012, while Duke right-hander Robert Huber earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
Duke’s Huber held No. 5 Texas to two hits in six shutout innings to lead the Blue Devils to a 5-2 win over the Longhorns on Sunday. Huber matched a career high with six strikeouts in the win.
Given a chance to pitch close to home, the Plano Texas, native looked good in the opening frame. After issuing a walk to the first batter he faced, Huber struck out the next three hitters swinging to end the inning. During the second through fifth innings, Huber retired 10 straight batters. During the second through sixth innings, Huber had a stretch where he retired 14 of 17 batters."
