Harvard scored a huge victory tonight, going to New Haven and routing Yale 65-35. Amaker's team is now 17-2 (3-0).

Yale was one of the two teams that figure to challenge Harvardm in the Ivy. The Bulldogs were 12-5 (2-0) before last night. They were No. 51 in the RPO, right behind Harvard at No. 49.

The other contender is Penn, which is just 10-9 (2-0 Ivy). Despite the record - which is somewhat due to a series of preseason injuries, they are a talented club. Princeton (10-8, 2-1) is also in the mix.

Harvard must play Penn and Princeton back-to-back on the road Feb. 10-11. If they are still in first after that trip, they're probably home free in the Ivy, since Yale, Penn and Princeton all have to finish up in Cambridge. Harvard has what should be a gimmie game Saturday night at Brown.

I can't help thinking about Tommy without looking at what Johnny D is doing. Stanford just has a disastrous trip north, losing last weekend to Washington and Washington State on the road. That drops them a game off the pace in the Pac 12. Stanford (15-4, 5-3) has a HUGE game Sunday at archrival Cal, which is probably the best team in the Pac 12, and is one of four teams at 6-2 in the league.
