I'm a little surprised they're not replaying the infamous "refs forgetting to let the VA guy sub in after the made free throw" game.

Well, we won that game and ESPN Classic doesn't like to show Duke actually win an old game.

And... every team that gets the fortunate circumstance to actually beat Duke gets a "signature win". I was wondering... can Duke *ever* get a "signature win"?

But that's OK. I rather have it this way than any other alternative.

I know what game they are going to show when st. Johns comes to Cameron... Our 99-00 squad was one very interesting, talented, dynamic and YOUNG team.

Spoiler Alert - Next week they will be showing a game where Duke actually wins - AKA "Gone in 54 Seconds"

Here's a good one I just noticed on the programming guide:

Monday January 23rd at 3 - 2001 ACC Tourney Semifinal - Maryland vs Duke. Definitely a classic game.

Over the next 3 days, ESPN Classic is overloading on Syracuse/Georgetown and Duke/UNC games on ESPN Classic. Here's the listing of the Duke/UNC games:

Starting at Midnight tonight and into Monday 2/6

12:00 a.m. - UNC at Duke 3/4/06 (not a very good start)
4:00 a.m. - UNC/Duke ACC Semifinal 3/10/84
1:00 p.m. - UNC at Duke 2/28/98
5:00 p.m. - UNC at Duke 2/4/01

Starting at Midnight tomorrow night and into Tuesday 2/7

12:00 a.m. - UNC at Duke 2/9/11
4:00 a.m. - Duke at UNC 1/18/86
1:00 p.m. - Duke at UNC 2/3/00
5:00 p.m. - Duke at UNC 1/31/96

Starting at Midnight Tuesday night and into Wednesday 2/8

2:00 a.m. - UNC at Duke 2/9/05
7:00 a.m. - Sportscentury - Coach K
8:30 a.m. - Duke at UNC 2/5/92
12:30 p.m. - Duke at UNC 2/5/04
and finally from 4:30 until 7 - UNC at Duke 2/2/95

I know most think that ESPN Classic never shows Duke victories and I think the main reason for that is that most Duke victories are double digit routine wins whereas the losses are usually close margins. Anyway, I would love for them to bring out the 82-50 at some point.

Well I guess we have a new one to add to the list.

Anyway, ESPNU is showing last night's game again at 9 a.m. this morning (according to my programming guide). Now looking at espn tv listings on their website, it says it's at 9:30 a.m.

My onscreen DirecTV guide still lists it as 9-11 this morn. Hope so, as that might mean we'd get nearly the entire game.

Duke Blue Planet tweeted that the game is on ESPNU right now and will be shown on ESPN Classic at 8 tonight. I wish ESPN Classic was in high def.

More games this week:

Tuesday 1 a.m. Duke at UNC from 2/8/12 - in case it's not still on your DVR
Tuesday 11 a.m. Wake at Duke from 1/13/94
Tuesday 5 p.m. Duke at Wake from 2/2/05

Thursday 1 a.m. UNC at Duke from 2/28/98 - nice comeback
Thursday 9:30 a.m. Sportscentury - Coach K
Thursday 10:30 a.m. UNC at Duke from 2/9/11 - another nice comeback
Thursday 12:30 p.m. UNC at Duke from 2/2/95
Thursday 3:00 p.m. Duke at UNC from 2/5/92
Thursday 5:00 p.m. Duke at UNC from 2/8/12

Starting Friday night and into Saturday morning, ESPNU is running some of these games again and also a special entitled "The Rivalry".

I still can't understand why 82-50 is not a part of the ESPN Classic lineup!

I don't know. Characterizing that game as a nice comeback is sort of like calling Hazel a strong blow, or calling WWI a minor dust-up in Europe.

Hmm. Dish Network's guide (which could be totally wrong) has the home loss in 2001 in that timeslot.

Probably my favorite game that I attended as a student. I was a sophomore and I ran track, so I had a cushy job ushering handicapped people to their seats behind the basket. I got to sit just off the floor under the basket. It's amazing to watch games that close to the action.

Just checked espn.com tv listings and they do have the 2001 game listed. My AT&T onscreen guide had the other game so they must be wrong. Boo.
