Sounds like he's doing okay for himself.

Was Matt exploited by Coach K as well?

Well, he did keep him in college for what seemed to be about 10 years.

Actually, it was only 7, but it seemed a lot longer. Between doing his Mormon mission and redshirting, he took his time. But hey, he got to play
Duke Basketball, right? Isn't likely to be anything else he'll do with his life that will be as exciting as that!

I realize you MAY be joking with that last comment, but I seriously wonder that, if you polled former Duke basketball players 10 or 15 or 20 years after they left Duke, if many of them would tell you that nothing they had done in life could compare to their four (or less) years as a Duke basketball player. I know it is a standard cliche that college should be the four best years of your life, but I'm guessing that for Duke basketball players, it may truly be the best years of their life.

As a rabid NBA fan, I have been devouring all of the crazy player movement since the lockout ended. I was thinking about this thread, and all the TP hand wringing, when I saw that BJ Mullens was shipped to Charlotte from OKC for a second round draft pick. Ohio State is, obviously, one of the teams that has a reputation of being a big man pipeline to the pros, unlike Duke. What's interesting, though, is that all those recent coveted bigs have amounted to exactly nothing. Obviously, Greg Oden has been crippled by injuries. The next two marquee signees, BJ Mullens and Kostas Koufos, did little in college and are doing next to nothing in the NBA. As far as recent NBA success, if we go back to Greg Oden, you could argue that McRoberts has been the best NBA big out of Oden, Mullens and Koufos. It's just a stark reminder of perception vs reality. Side note - I couldn't find this info in any other thread - anyone know why Zoubek gave up playing basketball.
