No change for the Devils in the week of 12/12 polls. Ohio State state didn't move, while Syracuse and Kentucky swapped positions. The beat down in Columbus clearly cost us with the voters more than just a loss, and it's doubtful that our play on Saturday impressed anyone. At this stage of the season, middle or lower half of the top 10 is just fine. Let the talking heads concentrate on others.

So do Mizzou, Indiana and some others. Doesn't mean any of em will. Murr. St definitely got a big win vs Memphis, but even though they play in a mid-level conference doesn't mean their rivals are gonna lay down for them. Even some of Duke's rivals beat us when we're nominally very good and they are bad (ie., NCSU from 2010).
I think it's impressive that they're undefeated so far, i wouldn't put much stock in it though.

OK, fine: Murray State has the greatest percentage chance to go undefeated in the regular season out of any Division 1 team in college basketball. Better?

According to Dr. Pomeroy--

Odds of going undefeated (regular season only)
Murray State 9.2%
Syracuse 1.3%
Xavier 0.2%
Marquette 0.1%
Missouri 0.1%
Louisville 0.01%
Baylor 0.0%
Illinois 0.00%

I would call 9.2% a significant possibility.

IU not getting any respect from Dr. Pomeroy? They are still undefeated right now.

My fault. I accidentally left them out. They too are at 0.00%

What is the NCAA gonna do with Murray State if they are undefeated? Their schedule is just godawful but they appear primed to beat all comers.

Thanks for the backup - a 1 in 10 shot sounds about right. I have no idea what you do with Murray State if they go undefeated. I don't know of any precedent for it since the tourney went to 64 teams... St Joseph's finished the regular season undefeated and got a 1 seed in I think 2004, but their conference was far better than Murray's. In 2006 George Washington finished with only 1 or 2 losses and got an 8 seed. But neither comparison is really analogous.

I bet kenpom gives Harvard a non-trivial shot to go undefeated the rest of the way. Harvard with 1 loss... what is that, a 5 seed?
