Congratulations to former Duke pitcher Chris Capuano (originally drafted in the 8th round in 1999 out of Duke) who signed a new 2-year contract with the LA Dodgers. After undergoing TWO Tommy John surgeries and missing the '08 and '09 seasons, Chris had really come back strong. This year he pitched 186 innings for the NY Mets and established a 4.55 ERA with the poor-fielding men from Queens. He had a 10-11 record and had 168 K's, clearly re-establishing himself as a MLB starter.

That's really great news for probably the best Duke player in MLB, to my knowledge. The $10MM deal includes an $8MM mutual option for 2014 and $1MM in incentives. Chris joins Clayton Kershaw, Chad Billingsley, Ted Lilly and Nathan Eovaldi in the Dodgers' rotation. Good for him.
