So far..... UNC has lead only once. Pembroke is out-rebounding UNC and the Heels have more TO's than Field Goals.

Currently 31-29, Pembroke.

Dexter Strickland may be the fastest player end to end with the ball in his hand in all of college basketball. Dexter and PJ Hairston have been very impressive. Bullock was also very explosive.

I played at Pembroke in 95 and we didnt get to play any schools like unc. I wouldve lit somebody up!lol

UNC seems to have struggled early and then settled in. The one thing that is now different about basketball than it was say 25 years ago is the level of talent across the board. UNC-P has talented players as do most schools, so in one sense it is not surprising to see them hang tight for a little while with the Heels. This may happen more often than you think this year and not only with the Heels. We may have trouble shaking off teams that you would think we should blow out from the tip.

This was probably the best case scenario for the Heels. Play tight, bring in the reserves give them some really good minutes and build their confidence up, then have the starters catch fire and pound them. A game like this might keep their heads at a realitivly normal size for another week or so.

The most intriguing thing about the Heels this year to me is going to be their psyche. If they can keep their collective heads together, they should be really, really good to great. BUT, I still have some questions about a certain sophmore (HB) and the potential impact he could have on team chemistry. Probably (likely) just wishful thinking, but I want to keep an eye on this as the year goes on and things get a little tougher. Besides injuries, disharmony is about the only thing that will slow down the Heels. No signs of it last year, but this is a different year and expectations for this team are through the roof, and as we know PRESSURE is tough to deal with....

Technically that's not a prediction, since the Arizona loss happened a couple days ago.

Technically that's not a prediction, since the Arizona loss happened a couple days ago.

Whoops, I missed the fact that the game was a couple days before the comment. I genuinely thought it was a perfectly timed prediction.
