Talking about the event at Rupp:

Said he felt better when they told him he'd have four state troopers around him at all times.

Favorite quote:

"God would never allow me to hit that shot if my actions, by stepping on Timberlake were so vengeful and naughty and bad."

Below is the roster for the "Big Blue All Stars v Villains" game. Nolan is playing for the villains even though he never played UK, "he was born in Louisville and is the son of former Louisville player Derek Smith, so he’s a villain by birth." Looks like KY has the major upper hand at the PG spot.

I'm stunned that they list Laettner's reason for being on the Villian's team as "The Shot" rather than "The Stomp".

Laettner got two technicals in a row with 1:31 remaining in the game and a tie game at 139 to get thrown out ... I'm sure it was orchestrated, but was kinda funny. This was shortly after he got down on his knees to wipe a wet spot on the court with a towel. Nolan has had some nice buckets. Obviously, it's like an All-Star game so defense isn't really being played, but Faried is a beast. Now 2.6 seconds left and tied at 142.

Edit: OT now.

Man, I am desperate for basketball, ha.

Edit 2: Villains win!

Any link to a box score would be appreciated. Story, too.

Appreciate the update. Sounds like a pretty cool event.

Laettner got "tossed" with 2 T's near end of regulation. All in fun. Here's link to John Clay blog (Lexington Herald Leader UK scribe). See comments for description at 9:36-9:39 marks. Among other things, CL walked to the spot on the court where he hit "The Shot." Boos and cheers both, apparently. Many thought it pretty funny, clever of CL.

Kentucky still can't beat Laettner.

I would say that the ejection was planned ahead of time so CL could get off the court before the game was over to avoid possible danger from an idiot in the crowd in KY. Pretty smart move I must say, so someone here said the game was tied with 2 seconds left, did someone make a laettneress shot to beat KY again?

It almost sound like the whole game was scripted to me, the KY team with rondo & wall should have run circles around the villains team.
