Who's Paul Hatcher?

- the winningest high school basketball coach in the history of Virginia (43 years)
- coached UNC's Kevin Madden in high school
- coached Dan Bonner's kid a couple years ago
- coached Tony Randolph in high school ...

... who's Tony Randolph, you ask? Chaminade beating UVa is trotted out every year as an upset example that everybody talks about ... the inside story is that Chaminade's leading scorer (Tony Randolph) played for Hatcher in Staunton, VA in the same district as Ralph Sampson's Harrisonburg team, so Randolph was very familiar w/ Ralph ... what's trotted out as the college b'ball upset of all time was really just a continuation of Virginia h.s. Valley District basketball rivalries ....

43 years, 4 state championships, 3 undefeated seasons ....

Great coach. Warren Rutledge (Benedictine) and him were legends in The Commonwealth for a long time.
