Really feel bad for the young man.

This is a big blow to IZZo and MSU who are scheduled to play UNC in aircraft carrier game Nov 11, then Duke on Nov 15 and FSU in ACC/B1G challenge at end of November.

Roe is an even better kid than he gets credit for, and he gets credit for a lot. Sad day, but in a way it's good for him. The kid went through ridiculous pain and still managed to never miss a game at MSU for three seasons.

It's a blow to the Spartans, but this season was going to be a rough one anyway. This will be a throwback to the old Izzo teams that were undermanned but were a legit pain to play against, which is something they lost after the Final Four run in 2010. They'll be a mid-B1G team and possibly a bubble one. The loss of Roe robs them of any frontcourt depth. Reinforcements arrive next season.

The team's problems aren't really all that important though, at least not today. Roe was a projected lottery pick until he blew out his knee in his senior year of high school, and since then, it's been one injury after another. His toughness and refusal to ever feel sorry for himself has earned him a special place among Spartans.

Special thanks to DBR for the classy Roe post on the front page. There is a lot of mutual respect between the MSU and Duke programs, and I hope it always stays that way. Izzo has modeled much of what he does from K, albeit in a Jud Heathcote style.

Anyone that could piss off Ol Roy as much as Delvon Roe did is OK in my book! ;) I wish him the best!
