Football and Basketball will not be the only ACC sports to get some decent coverage on television thanks to the most recent broadcast deal. In the Fall season that means that Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Volleyball will be shown ESPN platforms as well as still to be announced regional cable channels. Soccer games can also be selected as the NSCAA game of the week on Fox Soccer, including tomorrow's men's game when Virginia visits Koskinen Stadium. Here is the Duke list by sport and date for reference. Postseason games will also be broadcast, but I will list the Duke-relevant ones as we get there. Here is the full ACC announcement if you want to see other teams:

You would figure that if the ACC wanted people to watch their sports, they would provide timely television information, but that is not the case, so I looked a few places to piece together which channels will air Friday's volleyball game. Looks like it will be on Fox Sports South and CSN Mid-Atlantic live at 7pm ET and delayed at 11pm on Sun Sports.

awhom111

The ACC appears to be getting the hang of posting channels. Women's Soccer will be hosting Virginia on Thursday at 8pm Eastern. Per the ACC and Duke Sports Information, the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports South, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic, and Fox Sports Florida. According to listings that I have seen, the game will also be available in Southern California on Primeticket.

Men's Soccer will be the national game on Fox Soccer this week.

I am bringing this up to remind people of Friday's big soccer game as Duke tries to build up its conference resume as they travel to Maryland. ESPN3 at 7pm Eastern is where to be to watch.

It is a shame with all of the platforms available that tomorrow's titanic Women's Soccer match will not be widely available and will not be on television.

awhom111
10-17-2011, 09:24 PM
Bringing this up for the 2 big games this week.

Volleyball will of course have the rivalry, but it is also an important game for Duke to push up the league standings and solidify a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Women's soccer continues to jostle for position in the league before the conference tournament.

awhom111
10-27-2011, 09:57 PM
A reminder for the volleyball game Sunday on ESPN3, though the women's soccer game at the same time may be of larger impact. That game's online availability has yet to be announced.

Conference tournament coverage is in full swing now.

The Women's Soccer team will be playing in the first semi-final on Friday which will put them at 5:30 Eastern on ESPN3 against Wake Forest.

The Field Hockey team is the 3rd seed in the tournament after the final games took place this weekend. They earn an immediate rematch with Virginia at 3:30 Eastern Thursday to be shown on the ACC website. A win there would propel them to a televised game 3:30 on Friday, but those listings are not available yet.

awhom111
11-03-2011, 10:52 PM
The Field Hockey team got their revenge on Virginia today so they will be in the second semifinal tomorrow scheduled for approximately 3:30 Eastern against the second seed Maryland on their home field.

The game will be televised live on Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida, CSN Mid-Atlantic, NESN, and Primeticket.

awhom111
11-05-2011, 07:34 PM
Tomorrow the Field Hockey team will face off against UNC in the final at 1pm Eastern. The same five channels will show the game, Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida, CSN Mid-Atlantic, NESN, and Primeticket.

Tuesday, the Men's Soccer team will host 6th seed Clemson at 7pm Eastern.

The Men's Soccer team advanced to the ACC semifinals after a thrilling penalty shootout against Clemson. That sets them up for a matchup with the 7 seed Boston College.

The game will be live on ESPN3 Friday. It is listed at 7:30pm Eastern but will probably be closer to 8:00pm because they will need to wait for the completion of the first semifinal between North Carolina and Virginia at 5:30pm so we may get some cutting into basketball.

The Field Hockey team has made its return to the NCAA tournament. The team has been placed in the 2nd seed Old Dominion's bracket and will face Stanford on Saturday at a currently unannounced time in Norfolk. The seeded team would probably like to avoid facing Duke considering that one of its two losses came at the hand of the Blue Devils. Here are the interactive and printable brackets:

The Field Hockey team defeated Stanford 5-0 today so they are set to face Old Dominion tomorrow at 2pm Eastern.

The Men's Soccer team will be waiting for their NCAA tournament destination on Monday at 4:30 Eastern. The selection show will air on ncaa.com

11-14-2011, 12:00 AM
The Field Hockey team's season is over, but a return to the tournament seems like an indicator of Duke's return to the national scene again.

The Women's Soccer team advanced in dominating fashion today so they will host the next two rounds next weekend. They will face Georgia, who defeated Kansas, on an increasingly crowded sports Friday at Duke at 7:30pm Eastern. I would suspect that the game will be available live on goduke.com, but I would check again later in the week. The other two teams heading to Durham are Ohio State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Women's soccer won its first-round game over Radford, 5-0. They play Georgia Friday night at Koskinen in the second round.

Field hockey won its first-round game over Stanford, 5-0, but lost to top-ranked ODU in the quarterfinals, 2-1.

The men's soccer selection show comes up at 4:30 eastern, live on ncaa.com. Duke should be a lock.

Neither men's nor women's cross-country made it to the NCAA team championship. Maddy Morgan, who finished sixth at the regional meet, will compete as an individual.

11-14-2011, 05:06 PM
Men's Soccer will face Georgia State in the first round in a game currently scheduled for 7pm Eastern Thursday, November 27th. A win would see them face the lone remaining unbeaten team in the country, New Mexico. Here is the full bracket:

The ACC has announced its TV schedule for spring sports. Unsurprisingly, plenty of Duke's Men's Lacrosse games will be on the ESPN family of networks. Also of note is a syndicated RSN baseball game at Georgia Tech. There will also be heavy coverage of the championships of Wrestling, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Baseball, and Softball (obviously not including Duke) although sadly no Tennis, Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, Fencing, Golf, or Rowing. Here are the Duke games for your convenience and quick reference:

Baseball:
March 31st, Saturday, 1:00pm ET, RSN, @ Georgia Tech

Men's Lacrosse:
March 3rd, Saturday, 1:00pm ET, ESPN3.com, @ Maryland
March 16th, Friday, 5:00pm ET, ESPNU, vs North Carolina
April 1st, Sunday, 1:00pm ET, ESPNU, vs Syracuse (game in East Rutherford, NJ)

The ACC Women's Swimming and Diving and the Men's Diving Championships are taking place this week and there will be some streaming coverage of the events on the ACC website from 7:00PM to 9:00PM Eastern on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Information can be found here:

The Baseball team has a 3-game series at Texas this weekend and if you happen to get the Longhorn Network, the games will be live and replayed endlessly there. The game times are scheduled for 8:00PM Friday, 7:00PM Saturday, and 1:00PM on Sunday (All times Eastern).

Finally the Men's Lacrosse team will be at Notre Dame Saturday and the game will be one ESPN3.com at 1:00PM Eastern.

On Saturday, Duke Baseball will be at Georgia Tech at 1:00pm Eastern. The game is set for regional sports network and ESPN3 coverage. The ACC is notoriously poor at getting the information out so I did a little looking around. It appears the game should be live on Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic, Fox Sports Arizona, and Fox Sports North Plus. It will be tape-delayed on NESN at 4:00pm Eastern. There should not be any blackouts for the game so it should be viewable if you have one of these outlets.

The ACC Women's Lacrosse tournament is at Duke's Koskinen stadium next weekend. The game will be available on a number of regional sports networks as well as ESPN3 without blackouts. It is a busy championship weekend in the ACC.

Men's Lacrosse is playing in the first semi-final on Friday against Maryland at 5:00pm Eastern on ESPNU and ESPN3.

Women's Lacross is playing the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between 6th place Virginia Tech and 3rd place Maryland on Saturday in the second semi-final listed at 3:00pm Eastern. According to the ACC website, the game will be on Fox Sports South, SUN Sports, CSN Mid-Atlantic, and ESPN3 live.

Days 2 and 3 of the Track and Field Championships will have some streaming coverage on the ACC website. They are scheduled to be broadcasting from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Eastern on Friday and 1:15pm to 5:30pm on Saturday. Here is the event schedule if you want to see what is schedule for any given time:
http://www.theacc.com/championships/12-outdoor-track-field-championships.html

The final two rounds of the Men's Golf Championship will be shown on the ACC website from about 1:30pm to 4:30pm Eastern on Saturday and Sunday.

The Rowing Championships is on Saturday starting at 9:00am Eastern and will be streamed on the ACC website.

Both Tennis teams have quarterfinal matchups with North Carolina State on Friday. The Women's team will be in the first action of the day at approximately 9:00am Eastern and the Men's team are last and will start after all the other matchups are done with an approximate start time of 3:00pm Eastern. Here are a couple of updates on championship weekend events:

Women's Lacrosse will be facing the 3rd seed Maryland in the Saturday semifinal. In addition to the previously listed TV outlets, the game is scheduled to be tape-delayed at 7:00pm Eastern on NESN (blame hockey pre-game coverage and other interesting programming decisions for bumping it from live coverage.

Women's Tennis faces 5th seed Virginia at 10:00am Eastern and Men's Tennis will face 2nd seed North Carolina at around 1:00pm Eastern pending the completing of the first semifinal. Recorded coverage is supposed to be available later in the day. I am unsure of why the ACC continues to have the tennis tournaments in a place that is so behind on technology for fans who cannot attend the events in person. The lack of live video coverage and timely live stats is disappointing and far below the standard available for most of the member schools.

Men's Lacrosse will face 3rd seed North Carolina at 3:00pm Eastern on Sunday. The game will be on ESPNU and ESPN3.
