Was 1975 the last time they had an induction? I know that there have been many great Duke athletes over the years, but it's hard to imagine that it's taken this long to figure out that K should be enshrined.

That is a mighty impressive inductee lineup, even without Coach K. Ben Bennett was a phenomenal quarterback with a personality to match! I'm surprised that Bobby isn't already in, and Jenny and Vanessa, wow, what careers they had at Duke! And Jenny came oh so close to winning the (LPGA) women's US Open as an amateur!

This is the night before the Stanford game. I'm thinking this is a "must see" event!

No, it was the first enshrinement. I'm still surprised K is being enshrined pre-retirement.

I hadn't thought of retirement being a critical component since K is already in other halls of fame. that's a good point. It's still hard to imagine why it's taken this long (my question about 1975 was tongue-in-cheek).

As Jim Sumner explained over at The Devils' Den, Duke abandoned a policy a year ago that required coaches to be retired prior to being inducted into the HOF.

Well, that explains it! Thanks, Mike. (I would give you some positive feedback, but I have been told that I must spread some around first.)

I should be there!

I doubt it, but any kind of discount or something for students? I only ask because in the chance that there is I don't want to show up at the door with a ticket and have someone tell me I can flash my Duke card for free entry.
