Seriously dudes, where's the chatter about Duke's own Nick McCrory?

Here is a link from USA Diving: http://www.usadiving.org/05redesign/main/news_08_14_11.htm

A good friend of my youngest daughter, just now age 14, had trained under the same coach with Nick before he came to Duke. I went to a couple traing sessions with her parents, and they told me to watch for that guy (Nick), that he was good! That was 5 years ago. He was impressive, though I was more amazed at watching their daughter, our tiny friend, age 9 at the time, fearlessly (& with such glee), going off the 10 meter platform! She made the finals in the 5 meter platform at Junior Nationals this summer. She is still a tiny thing, but tough as nails... she does triathlons, too. The only problem is that the parents are tarheels, and have successfully brainwashed her.:( Hey Nick, get recruiting, eh?!... when you're done bringing home some gold from London next summer!:D

Congratulations, Nick!

eta - According to goduke.com, he also came in 6th in the FINA World Championships just prior to the national event.

I used to be a lifeguard at the Duke Faculty Club when I was in high school and college and remember Nick doing all sorts of somersaults, flips, spins and everything off the high dive there in the late 90s-early 2000s. I also remember his little brother as well. Very cool to see that he continued to work at it and has succeeded. Congratulations Nick!

Cool that he got "two 10s and 9.5s from the judges". Congrats again, Nick!
