When I first saw the headline, I was surprised to learn that former Kentucky Wildcat Richie Farmer was Jewish, giving him a second hero point (the first for that superb mustache, natch).

Ah, yes, but reality comes crashing down, as it is just Jordan Farmar (interestingly enough, both were starting guards on teams that lost the title game to teams going for back to backs).

. . . I'm going to do it anyway.

Jordan Farmar was on the UCLA team that lost to the Gators in the 2006 title game (their first title, not their second; the second came at the expense of Greg "Mr. Glass" Oden and The Ohio State University).

Richie Farmer was on the Kentucky team that lost to Duke when we won the 1992 (which was back-to-back), but not in the title game (it was the East Regional Final in Philadelphia).

Sorry, dude. It is still interesting that Jordan Farmar is Jewish, though.

Also, Richie Farmer is 41 years old so his playing days are long behind him. He's currently the Commissioner of Agriculture in Kentucky, and still has the sweet sweet mustache:

Lol. Soylent Green anyone?

The Commissioner believes that children are Kentucky's most important crop.
...youth livestock shows...
to serve roast beef and pulled pork...students.

Sorry took some license with the context there ;P

http://www.kyagr.com/commissioner/index.htmRichie Farmer as Commissioner of Agriculture is one of those things that just makes you go, "Oh, come on. That's not really his name, is it?" Kind of like the meteorologist here in the Atlanta area named John Weatherby.
But seriously, all the best wishes for Richie. And Jordan Farmar, I guess.

Or the weatherman in Denver in the 80's named Stormy Ruttman.
