Art was a great guy. I met him first when he was in high school; he was the nephew of one of my Dad's best friends. He was an outstanding football player at Duke and later had a successfully career in Atlanta. I know he had a lot of frineds who will miss him.

He was part of some great teams. Sad to see these guys passing on.

Check him out in the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame.... a very special guy who represented Duke and himself well.

I only spoke with Art a few times and don't claim to have known him well. But his teammates agree on two things. He was an exceptional football player and he was an exceptional human being.
