Rising junior Brian Oliver will be rising somewhere other than GT

Wonder what the story is behind the transfer. Seems an odd time to look elsewhere, and obviously he was able to put up some numbers.

I wonder if he didn't mesh with Brian Gregory (for whatever reason). Either way, the cupboard is pretty bare down in Atlanta with Oliver and Shumpert both gone.

Plus, they don't have a real home next year because of renovations to the Thriller Dome.

Gonna get ugly before it gets better.

I still think that GT has huge upside. ATL has to be an attractive destination, and Gregory had a great run at Dayton (although there was some personality clash issue with his last group -- not sure what the cause of that was).

Hate to see BO-2 go, his dad was fun to watch as well.

I'm guessing it's due to the coaching change. He must not mesh with the new guy.

The two Brian Olivers are not related:

No relation to the Brian Oliver who played at Tech in the late 1980's and led the Yellow Jackets to the 1990 ACC championship and NCAA Final Four.

So, I could have disliked him all this time?!? Now you tell me.

(Thanks for the info -- I thought they were father/som).

Don't feel bad OPK, I thought the same thing. Duh. Not sure how I missed that one.

I hate to see him leave. He missed some time with injury this year, but he was one of their better players. He hurt UNC badly in the blowout game, mostly playing the PF spot that night which was bizarre. This will be a really bad year for Tech. Little talent, and no homecourt. Gregory has his hands full with this rebuilding job.
