Dolan is another example of the professional sports team owner behaving badly. Now he can bring back his buddy. If D'Antoni bails it will be chaos next season in the Garden.

So many undercurrents with the Knicks, with Isiah always lurking.

The international style of play embraced by D'Antoni and Walsh, but eschewed by Thomas, is a theme I find fascinating. Supposedly, Dolan went behind Walsh's back and gave up both Galinari and Mosgov for Melo, when Walsh was insisting on keeping one of the two. The way the Nuggets played after the trade demonstrated that the Knicks had put together some talent under Walsh.

With Walsh gone, I doubt you will see Euros on the Knicks roster.

As a Knicks fan, I'm sufficiently enraged, despite the fact that it was pretty obvious to me (http://www.sportsangle.com/2011/02/dolan-out-punishment-knicks-trade-their-soul-for-carmelo/) they were headed this way. I approach this with both hands up, gingerly; why would D'Antoni bail? It's now looking a bit, just a bit, but still brighter in NY isn't it? Even with the sad performance of the upstairs gang?

And was the suggestion about Alan Houston possibly coming back into the front office supposed to be facetious or fact? I've never liked that guy, and never could put a finger on it other than some prima donna behavior back in his pre-injuries days.

OK, I'm not trying to disagree with anyone, just watching from the train wreck that is the Pistons.

It's not really D'Antoni's choice to make, is the thing. He was Walsh's guy, his days are numbered.

I liked Allan Houston as a shooting guard, until his knees went. I have no idea if he knows anything about being a front office executive, but as a puppet, I think he'd do just fine.

The man who put together the best Knick team that we've seen in over a decade has been told to hit the bricks, and there's no real basketball-based rhyme or reason as to why. Walsh has had his health problems as of late, but the guy could build a 50-win team without having to get up from his seat.

All this does, again, is point to the meddling nature of Knicks owner James Dolan. All this does, again, is shove New York and their Knicks two steps backwards.

Pretty sure Walsh is staying on as a consultant for a year with the Knicks...I guess he could pass that up if offered another job?

Word. Any team could use him. Pair Walsh with a relatively sharp GM -- like Chris Mullin, who Dolan never let him hire -- and your team is in good hands.

Unreal. I know this might seem a bit too extreme, but at some point doesn't the league have to save the Knicks from Dolan? Stern simply can't have one of his biggest market franchises being ruined by the incompetence of Dolan. I will reserve judgement to see who becomes the next GM, but whoever it is, they better have no links to Isiah. IMO this is a major step back for the Knicks, Walsh took Isiah's mess and did the best he could. In a time when the NBA is flourishing they need the Knicks to hold some relevance. Very disappointing and I'm not even a Knick fan.

The NFL hasn't stepped in with the Redskins and Snyder is probably every bit as bad as Dolan. You would think that the other owners would say something at some point though.

The only thing I have gotten from this thread is that some Tar Heel who was involved in the Fight with Art Heyman (running off the bench and giving him a cheap shot then running away) got fired from his job.
