Saw this online. Good to know that Jon is attending the Coach K Academy.

Interesting that the article quoted K as saying his best shot at a pro career might be overseas...first time I have seen anything like that, attached to K, in print. Too bad for Jon that the NBA has cancelled Summer League and will likely start late. I wonder if he'll ride the lockout wave and take another shot at the L or just go all in with Europe as the goal.

It is too bad for Jon. He's had some bad luck recently with his eye injury and now the lack of summer league. I have NO DOUBT he would be a great asset to a veteran team in the NBA. He just may never get that chance, at least in the near future. If he goes to Europe, whatever team gets him will be extremely lucky.

Amen, brother.
Jon is a winner and will succeed at whatever he does. Wherever he ends up, that team/company/school will be better off.

He would be a great asset. He knows how to run a team and can hit the outside shot. Hey, if Steve Blake can carve out an NBA career, so can Jon. If he's missed the NBA boat his game style would fit in very nicely in Europe, where there is more of a reliance on team play rather than just pure athleticism and the ability to create your own offense. There's no reason he couldn't carve out a career similar to Nick Calathes in Europe.

I'm optimistic Jon can carve out a career similar to Trajan Langdon in Europe.

I agree and would add that I think Jon is even more well rounded.

I hope the pun in the thread title was intended.

Yes, that's why the Nick Calathes reference works well for me. Trajan is a better shooter, but Jon's game is about being under control in all elements of his game. Obviously in the NBA they like you to excel at something, it's sort of like a league of specialists. I feel if Jon could master hitting the corner 3, the rest of his well rounded game could find him a home for a while in the NBA.
