No surprise, but Nolan made 1st team All-American per AP today. I always kind of look to AP as the "official" team. He made it along with Jimmer, Kemba, Sullinger, and JaJuan Johnson. Strangely, the article (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BKC_MENS_ALL_AMERICA?SITE=DCTMS&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULThttp://) doesn't list the second or third teams.

In any event, congratulations Nolan!

Big weakness: Jimmer has to play SF on D. He'll get killed by Harrison Barnes.

Hmmm. Disappointed that Kyle didn't get end or 3rd team AA. How about Honorable Mention?

I can't find the honorable mention list. But kdogg above says Singler made it to that list.

Edit: Found it!

Derrick Williams must have been the 6th highest vote getter.

By the end of the year, Derrick Williams was playing better than a number of the first team selections. Must be the East Coast/Midwest/Southeast bias that left him on the second team. Based on the way he played against Duke, he'd be my selection for POY.

This suggests the POY race will be fairly close. I hope people took defense into account.

I'm pretty sure the votes were cast before the NCAA tournament.

So number 2 gets hung next season I guess?

First team AA alone is not enough .... see J. Scheyer and C. Carrawell.

Scheyer was not a first-team All-American.

Unfortunately, I think this puts him in a unique class as the only player to go from being pre-season 1st Team to off the post-season All-American teams twice.

But if Barnes comes back, he can match the feat.
