Not sure how familiar you all are with The Onion, but I find it to be usually quite funny. It's all, or mostly satire on the news. Well, in today's sports section, they have a mock sportsgraphic called, "Biggest Busts in NBA Draft History." Here's a link: http://www.theonion.com/content/infograph/biggest_busts_in_nba_draft

Anyway, Grant Hill made the list:

1994: Grant Hill is selected third overall by the Detroit Pistons and breaks both wrists while holding up his new team's jersey

I love The Onion.

The joke about Len Bias does seem a little over the line though...

Oh, yeah the Onion definitely goes over the line sometimes: "Cambodia converts to skull-based currency" for example.

But more often than not, they're funny in a way that's really revealing about our culture and world. Which I guess is what good comedy always does.

RE: Bias. 1989?

Good point. That was '86, right?

In the picture below the text, who's the guy in the warriors cap?

Joe Smith. No funny caption necessary.

Actually, the guy was one of the greatest ACC players I ever saw (that 40 and 18 he put up in Cameron was maybe the most dominant live performance I've ever seen), but has never been more than serviceable in the NBA.

Yes they do cross the line a lot. For example, under Nba Players to watch in 2006-2007 they say this about J.J. Redick- "Look for this former Duke standout to end his career either by suffering life-threatening injuries in a motor-vehicle crash or by being a poor basketball player."

Not cool.

Also, Gheorghe Muresan is Romanian, not Croatian, right?

Ah yes, the Season From Hell. That was the game that Maryland won on a Joe Smith tip-in (for his 39th and 40th points) at the buzzer. The ball actually rolled a full 360 degree lap around the rim as the horn was sounding, taunting us for a couple of extra seconds before finally dropping in.
