Michigan State's issues
I had Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo on my radio show. He was very forthcoming about his team's recent eight-game stretch in which it allowed 51 percent field goal defense.

Izzo told me: "It was my fault we were so bad for those eight games [when Sparty lost six of eight]. We had some other issues; Derrick Nix has struggled with his weight, Kalin [Lucas] was still getting his explosion back from the Achilles and Adeian Payne is not as far along due to his shoulder injury that set him back. But I really think I got away from concentrating on defense in practice. We were trying to fix other little things, working on free throws, and I just put in on myself for not demanding more work on our defense during practice."

are you trying to contrast this with another coach? are you saying throwing your team/fans/family/dog sitter under the bus is not the best way to go???
