Is ESPN showing really bad camera angles this game or have just drunk too much?

ESPN is showing really bad angles, and you probably drank too much.

Hopefully ESPN will sober up more than me in the 2nd half.

You should see what NBC does for hockey games. They switch to a camera right behind the net and you can't see a damn thing. I understand trying to implement new technologies into games, but it usually doesn't work.

Just horrible. They've been doing it for awhile now.

...I don't know which is worse.

Listening to Vitale talk about everything except the game

OR

Having ESPN show views of everything except the game.

I guess the camera folks have a quota of x number of fan reactions after a made basket, y number of views from the other end of the arena and/or in a different ZIP code, and z number of closeups of the player who just scored while the play on the court is totally ignored.

At least I can hit the mute button to solve the Vitale problem.

ESPN here in the Philippines has a freaking swim meet on!

Skyping wife, watching on video chat from our house in NV!

Yeah, I guess the camera angles here are at least better than they are there.

I vote that they were drinking in the booth - they didn't even have the camera on the court when shots were taken.

Obviously, ESPN hired FOX's camera crew for the game.

I think it is watching Miles clank another point blank shot off of the rim while trying to make a statement. Is he aiming for sportscenter?

If it's available to you try espn3 in the future. Better then watching through skype i would imagine.

As far as the original post, i agree the angles were horrible. What was up with the main broadcast cam? how do you not have it at midcourt like every other gym in the country???

IIRC, the camera angles are often bad in Cassel Colosseum. I think it has to do with the available places where they can put a camera. For example, the main sideline view has frequent fan obstructions. Most other arenas Duke plays in are more camera-friendly.

That can be fixed. Just take out a few seats in front of the cameras.

I'm surprised that the ACC didn't make them do more of that when they joined. Getting tired of the goobers in the rafters mugging for the cameras, intentionally blocking the camera from up in the corner trying to show the court. Doesn't look "big time" at all...
