In the first half, the Smith-Curry-Singler-big-big combo appeared precisely once in the second half (with the brothers Plumlee playing the role of big-big). It was the only lineup to outscore the Heels in the first half (9-7). Someone on the bench noticed, and in the second half, that combination carried the day - +8 with Mason/Miles, +5 with Mason/Kelly, +7 with Kelly/Miles. I actually thought Dawkins played well in the first half - indeed, only Miles had better +/- numbers for the half - but tonight was a night to ride the hot hand, and Curry provided it.

Interesting -- think this shows as bad as our bigs looked offensively, they were absolutely necessary defensively and for rebounding. I thought we did an excellent job getting rebounds in the second half, from -8 to a +3 advantage.
