Ok, so we all know that Tyler Hansblah went 4-0 in Cameron because every Carolina fan will continue to remind you. Has there been any Duke players that have swept Carolina all four years at both sites?

Greg Zoubek? :D

Maybe not all four years, but Luol Deng and Maggette both never lost to the Holes.

Not really a fair comparison, but Luol (2-0) and Corey (3-0) were undefeated versus Carolina in their single seasons.

I'm sure you know this, but it's at least worth pointing out that Hansborough did not go undefeated against Duke, losing 2 games in Chapel Hill.

True. And in terms of most career wins in the rivalry, I think Battier must be at least tied for first with 8 wins (and three losses) over 4 seasons.

1998 (1-2)
1999 (3-0)
2000 (2-0)
2001 (2-1)

Nate James beats him by percentage points.

1997 (1-1)
1999 (3-0)
2000 (2-0)
2001 (2-1)

Total of 8-2.

Further to your question, Chris Carrawell was undefeated in Cameron against UNC, winning in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Daniel Ewing was also undefeated in Cameron, winning in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. Those are, I believe, the only two 4-year players under Krzyzewski to have undefeated home careers against UNC.

Pre-Krzyzewski, all seniors in the graduating classes of 1972, 1971, 1970, 1964, 1963, 1956, 1955, 1954, 1943, 1933, 1932, and 1931 did not lose to UNC at home, at least at the varsity level.

And though they only stayed 3 years, the JWill/ Boozer/ Dunleavy class was undefeated in CH.

Finally, the Class of '54 is the only class to have an undefeated varsity career against UNC, although back then the career was three years instead of four. They went 7-0.

Correction, as SCMatt33 pointed out (below), the class of '64 also had an undefeated varsity career (also three years), also going 7-0.

I love this thread! How about Hurley, Hill, and Laettner? What were their respective records against UNC? I don't think UNC was that good during the early 90's. If I remember correctly, they had the likes of JR Reid, Eric Montross, and Hubert Davis, but certainly never the teams of Duke's caliber.

I don't believe that I can find any example of a player who played a four year career (for either side) without losing a single game. I can find an example, however, of going undefeated over a three year career before freshman were eligible. Duke swept Carolina 7-0 from 1961-62 to 1963-64, which would encompass the entire career of Jeff Mullins and a few others. Unlike today where three year players are one's who left early, and players who redshirt are still on the roster, freshman before 1972 were officially not on the roster.

Crap, that's right. That was the year Stackhouse, Wallace, McInnis, and Zwikker all came in. Nice class for them!

Interestingly enough, when we had our run of 7 final fours in 9 years (86-94), we were just 10-12 against UNC. Our best 9 years under Krzyzewski against UNC was 97-05 (or 98-06 - same record), when we went 17-6. One championship and 3 final fours in that run.

These may have been covered, but I'll post them anyway.

Recent Dukies;
Daniel Ewing was 8-2
Chris Duhon was 9-2
Jay Williams, Boozer, and Dunleavy were 7-1 (3-0 in CH)
Battier and Redick were both 8-3
Mason Plumlee, Andre Dawkins, Ryan Kelly are 2-0 :)

They won the title for the 92-93 season. Those guys did not start playing until the '93-'94 season.

Any of our guys win 4 at UNC?
That would be more comparable to Hansblahblah than winning 4 at home.

Lots of parity during that nine-year span (though Duke dusted UNC in getting to FF):

NCAA tournaments: Duke 9, UNC 9
ACC Regular titles: Duke 4, UNC 3
ACCT titles: Duke 3, UNC 2
Sweet 16s: Duke 8, UNC 8
Final 4s: Duke 7, UNC 2
HC FF ejections: Duke 0, UNC 1
NCs: Duke 2, UNC 1

We won four in a row at Carolina from 1999 through 2002. But JWill/Boozer/Dunleavy/Christensen didn't play in 1999. I suppose had Corey Maggette played four seasons, he would have graduated in the class of 2002.

I'd like to point out that Kyrie Irving has never lost to Carolina.

Not for nothing, but Nick Horvath was 9-1 vs. UNC; 4-0 at CIS, 3-1 at CH.

They also went to the final four in 1991 in the infamous game where Dean was thrown out of the game.

The only senior on that team ('02) was Matt Christensen, but he played in '95-'96, '99-'00, '00-'01, and '01-'02, due to his mission. We lost at UNC in '96.

Do we have any other 4 year spans where we won at UNC?

The Jeff Mullins, Jay Buckley, Buzzy Harrison class went 7-0 v. UNC from 1962-through-1964.

UNC won the second game in 1993 and both match-ups in 1994, 1995 and 1996. Jeff McInnis was 6-0 v. Duke. And yes, it hurt to write those words.

Duke won at UNC in 1952, 1953, 1954 and 1955. Duke won 10-of-11 from the second game in 1951 through the 1955 season, with UNC's win coming in the Dixie Classic.

That's not the way I remember it.

Final AP Polls for the early 90's:

Year Duke UNC
1990 12 n/a
1991 6 4
1992 1 18
1993 10 4
1994 6 1
1995 n/a 4

Average* 7 6.2
*excluding years not ranked

About the same as Duke, though I had to include '95 so I wouldn't have to decided how to deal with UNC not being ranked in 1990.

Duke won at Carolina in 1942 through and including 1946 so, the seniors in 1945 and 1946 never lost at Carolina.

Mullins, Buckley, and Harrison never lost to UNC in their varsity years, 1962-1964, when freshmen weren't eligible.

More recently, Duke swept UNC in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2010, so none of the recent players qualify for a perfect record.

Has a member of a Duke basketball team never lost to the Tee Hee Heels in basketball

The answer is yes:

Alana Beard
(and presumably fellow classmates Vicky Krahpol and Icis Tillis). Haven't checked the record books (nor the rosters) but I think they went 12-0 against dem Heels.
