I just looked at the new ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. OSU is No. 1, followed by Kansas, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. I can live with Syracuse and Pittsuburg being where they are, but I just take issue with OSU and Kansas. Kansas has played no one, except for Memphis, who was ranked at the time. OSU - they've won their last three games by a total of 8 points and they recieve 18 first place votes? They've played one ranked team and won by 3 points. They need to get a schedule. I would rather see Syracuse or Pittsburgh in the No. 1 slot. At least they play some competition.

Much rather have other teams hold the number 1 going into the tourney. Duke needs a little chip on its collective shoulders.

Is that tOSU you're refering to?

It's a product of how they arrived in that order originally, and not on the body of work the press/coaches are using to arrive at the rankings. Fortunately, we have a tournament rather than an arbitrary ranking system for post-season play, so this doesn't matter much just yet.

I mean, we've only played two ranked teams, #s 17 and 24. OSU also blew out a UF team that was #10 when they played them, and blew out FSU at FSU.

You can make a good argument for 'Cuse at #1, but OSU and Kansas have also beaten everyone in front of them. They may not look like #1 teams, but there really aren't many other options this year.

That would have been the better 1-2 esp since they play tonight. Imagine Pitt will win at home. Syracuse top scorer not makeing trip.

Let them be in the #1 position. Better to come in later then be there waiting.

Why is Gtown on that list?

Because they've played such a hard schedule with true road games at places like Old Dominion. :)

Well based on the opening five minutes of the Cuse/Pitt game we may get jumped over by Pitt...of course there's another 35 minutes of game time, but damn they're punking Cuse 13-0 to open.

As was mentioned above though the rankings don't mean much thanks to the brilliance that is March Madness!!!

Go Duke!!!

Based on the apparent reasoning (zero losses), then should not the Duke Women be ranked number one?

Georgetown in the national polls at 2-4 in the Big East is similar to subletting Jeff McInnis a fold-out sofa in your master bedroom. Seriously wtf.

We all loved Big John and his lovable rendition of a son, but please. It's time to show the Hoyas the exits. They've lost four-of-six, with their only two wins coming over (10-7, 1-4) Rutgers and (6-11, 0-5) DePaul. Good grief.
