Interesting game here. A few notes:

First, Coach K was far more willing to experiment with lineups in the first half rather than in the second half. In the first half K switched lineups a total of 10 times (not counting the original starting lineup). In the 2nd half, only 5 lineup switches were made, and the last two of those came in the final 2 minutes.

Second, take care when looking at Seth Curry's negative +/-....he came into the game after Duke made its initial run and played a significant amount of time with at least one of Josh Hairston and Tyler Thornton, the other two low guys for this game. I'd blame his bad +/- on those two, rather than on Curry.

Third, Miles Plumlee only played 11 minutes, so don't really put any stock in his +/- per 40 minutes. He was a part of two of the three lineups at the beginning on which we went on the 26-4 run (accounting for +15 on those two lineups), but after that point went -7 for the rest of the game. While Miles did start the 2nd half, he was quickly taken out for Mason and didn't return until the final lineup of the game.

Finally, the small lineup seemed effective in this game. Smith Curry and Dawkins played together in 4 different lineups and were a combined +8 with Dre at Small Forward.

Andre Dawkins +27
Nolan Smith +25
Kyle Singler +23
Mason Plumlee +21
Ryan Kelly +12
Miles Plumlee +8

Tyler Thornton -2
Seth Curry -4
Josh Hairston -5

Per 40:
Andre Dawkins +33.75
Mason Plumlee +30
Miles Plumlee +29.09
Nolan Smith +27.77
Kyle Singler +26.29
Ryan Kelly +20.87

Seth Curry -6.66
Tyler Thornton -13.33
Josh Hairston -40

Lineup Totals:

Smith-Dawkins-Singler-Kelly-Mason +8 (17-9)
Smith-Dawkins-Singler-Miles-Mason +7 (10-3)
Smith-Dawkins-Singler-Kelly-Miles +6 (11-5)
Smith-Curry-Dawkins-Singler-Mason +5 (15-10)
Thornton-Smith-Dawkins-Hairston-Mason +2 (2-0)
Smith-Curry-Dawkins-Kelly-Mason +2 (2-0)
Thornton-Dawkins-Singler-Miles-Mason +2 (2-0)
Smith-Curry-Dawkins-Singler-Kelly +1 (9-8)
Smith-Curry-Dawkins-Singler-Hairston +0 (0-0)
Smith-Curry-Singler-Kelly-Mason -1 (7-8)
Thornton-Curry-Dawkins-Hairston-Miles -2 (2-4)
Thornton-Curry-Dawkins-Kelly-Mason -4 (4-8)
Smith-Curry-Singler-Hairston-Miles -5 (4-9)

Mason played a great game today -- not only did he score, he was often the big setting picks for Nolan. Nolan was basically unstoppable that game.

So it looks like it does not matter which two of the Plumlees and Kelly plays in lineup with Nolan - Dre - Kyle as all 3 combos were +7 give or take 1.

Mason played better defense last night than I've seen from him in quite a while. Gotta love that highlight reel steal and finish...
